James Hernandez is a seasoned property manager with over 15 years of experience serving the greater Puget Sound area. He began his career in 2010 with Zaran Sayre and Associates, a local real estate firm established in 1981. During his three years there, Zaran personally mentored James, profoundly shaping his understanding and approach to the industry.
In 2014, James co-founded Haven Property Management, built on the idea of combining traditional property management principles with a modern, client-focused approach. The goal was simple: to deliver the best possible experience for clients by doing things the right way — no shortcuts, keeping your word, and being good stewards of each client’s investment.

Update: James Hernandez is your guy. He wants to make things right and is very reasonable. If you run into any trouble, reach out to him. From a tenant’s perspective, our move out process was awful. They mailed the security deposit back to the residence in which they knew we were no longer renting from. Their portal asks for a new move out address but the staff claim it doesn’t capture that. When we asked, why they didn’t call us, they became defensive and said they did but left no voicemails. When the Haven team wanted something from us, it was nonstop texts, calls and emails to the tenants; often different staff asking the same questions repeatedly. I’m disappointed we were not given the same level of responsiveness to our inquiries.
I have nothing but positive things to say about Haven Property Management. James has been our manager for the past three years. He has been responsive, helpful, and quick to address issues. I have heard so many nightmares about renting a house, but if there was any sign of trouble or concern at all, James was quick to address it... allowing us to rent our home with knowledge of what was happening, but with the assurance that it was being handled. And let me just say that there were a few times that James went WAY above and beyond even my expectations! There was a spot that needed to be painted with a quick turn around and all of his usual vendors were busy... so he did it himself since we had extra paint. Not something I expected, but so fantastic! And, the one or two times I disagreed with how the company as a whole addressed a particular issue, he was quick to step in and make the necessary adjustments. I have to say, I have been pleased with the whole experience, the company, and James.

I am new to Haven Real Estate but our property manager James has been with us for the past two years and recently started managing us under Haven Real Estate. We are a couple moving to WA from across the United States and signed a house rental contract with James the manager from Haven. After waiting for half a month for settling in the house, we decided to give the services a fair review. The manager is very helpful and friendly. Also, we enjoyed the beautiful rental property - both the previous owner and the real estate company took good care of the house. They are very good with communication. No issues so far. Being an active duty servicemember with no exact timeline for returning to the area, I was looking for someone that could give us the peace of mind that our property will be cared for in our absence. James and his team exceeded our expectations and offered a variety of realistic options to get our home ready for its new tenant. Despite the short notice, James found us a tenant and had our home in better shape than it was in the last 10 years. Throughout the process, James consistently called or emailed to let me know the status of where we were at in renovations and rental applications.
